Renewed momentum to translate commitments into tangible action and strengthen regional cooperation on methane emissions.
In its second edition, the Regional Summit of Methane consolidated its role as a platform for dialogue and cooperation to advance emissions mitigation in the energy sector, bringing together energy ministry focal points and delegates associated with OEMLAC.
The Summit brought together a multi-stakeholder representation comprising government entities, parliamentarians, oil and gas companies and technology solution providers, academic and research institutions, international organizations, civil society organizations and industry associations.
Through forums designed to strengthen cooperation and regulatory development, it fostered technical exchange and the development of regional action to reduce methane emissions.

At this session, organized by the Andean Parliament, legislative initiatives being advanced by various national parliamentary bodies were presented, focusing on the monitoring, measurement and mitigation of methane emissions, biofuels, and common reporting frameworks.

This session, co-organized with the International Energy Agency (IEA), brought together experts and national and international representatives to identify support needs and opportunities for coordination.
